Sponsorship Opportunities

Dear SAAFoST member

RE: 19th SAAFoST CONGRESS AND EXHIBITION, 3 - 5 Sept 2007.

The South African Association for Food Science & Technology (SAAFoST) will be holding its 19th Biennial Congress in Durban from 3 - 5 September 2007. The 2007 theme is

"Consuming Science - Focus on the Facts"

The Congress aims to draw over 500 delegates from both SAAFoST membership as well as a cross-section of stakeholders in the wider food industry in South Africa and neighbouring regions.

  • A number of prominent international and local invited speakers will feature.
  • The congress also serves as a platform for original food science and technology research.
  • More information is available on the congress website: www.saafost2007.org.za
SAAFoST relies heavily on sponsorship of various forms to keep delegate fees low, and in this way encourage attendance of as many food scientists and relevant interest groups as possible. SAAFoST also encourages and assists students to attend, as they are the future of the industry.

SAAFoST therefore invites you to participate by sponsoring one of the items or activities listed overleaf. All sponsors will be acknowledged in the congress program booklet and on the website. Where feasible, sponsors may display promotional material at the congress to ensure exposure and acknowledgement of the company's contribution. (e.g. promotional banners on display during a sponsored lunch or tea break.)

Should you prefer to simply make a financial contribution towards the running costs of the Congress, this would also be gratefully accepted, and acknowledged.

Exhibition: The congress will include an exhibition. Tea breaks and lunches will be served in the exhibition area to maximise traffic flow through the exhibition. We will gladly send more information on request.

Your support will ensure that this SAAFoST event is able to contribute positively towards the development of Food Science, the growth of the food industry and safe food supply in Southern Africa.

Please submit the attached forms by fax, email, via the website, or contact one of the organisers directly.

Yours sincerely
